Slide Behind the Wheel of the Ferrari

Ok, so you might not be able to afford a Ferrari of your own, but that doesn’t mean you can’t put one through its paces. Ferrari Virtual Race goes one step further by allowing gamers to test a virtual Ferrari on a race track. Find out if this game is going to get your engine revving by reading the review.

Ferrari Virtual Race is officially linked to the Ferrari brand and puts players behind the wheel of various different models of this popular sports car. The action takes place on the world famous Mugelo race circuit in Italy and players will have the chance to race up to seven other Ferraris around the track as they attempt to reach pole position. Some of the classic cars that players can choose from include the 430 Scuderia, the 612 Scaglietta and the 599 Fiorano.

As you would expect, the Ferraris are well represented in this game and the attention to detail is striking. The racing environment is also well replicated and the graphics are very sharp and impressive to look at. This helps to draw players into the game and make the race experience more realistic. The dust effect is particularly impressive, while the motion effect that is presented on the side of the screen is also a nice touch.

The driving physics are also very good and the excitement of taking a Ferrari for a spin around an actual race track is created to good effect. The twists and turns that this race track presents will really get the pulse racing, while the various camera angles that are available to choose from help players to know exactly where they are in the race and what is going on around them.

However, one of the most defining characteristics of a Ferrari for many people is the roar of the engine. Unfortunately, the sound effects fail to capture this and they are nowhere near as good as the graphics. Players may find that they want to turn off the sound entirely and play their favourite tunes as a backdrop to the racing action that takes place on the screen.

There are three difficulty modes to choose from, which helps to keep players engaged and striving to be the best. However, even the most difficult mode should be a breeze for driving experts to complete and the game does not present any other obstacles or challenges to overcome.

People who have paid membership to the official Ferrari website will also be able to create their very own Ferrari online and use this model to race in the game. This is an element that true Ferrari fans will love, although for most mere mortals the this added bonus may not be worth the cost of membership.

For a game that has the word race in the title, it is surprising to discover that gamers only have one race track to choose from. This can make the game play rather limited and also feel a bit monotonous. Once players have successfully mastered the track and figured out how to complete it in record time, they are likely to want to move onto another racing game that features more detailed locations and options.

People who have always wanted the chance to drive a Ferrari are sure to find this game exciting, at least for a few hours. Although Ferrari Virtual Race might not win game of the year, it contains a few nice elements that sports car enthusiasts are sure to enjoy.

While there are lots of computer racing cars out there in the world today, only Ferrari Virtual Race puts you behind the wheel of some of the sleekest Ferrari models.

Ferrari is one of the top names in the world of open wheel racing. If you watch the IndyCar Series or other races, you probably saw Ferrari drivers crossing the finish line first and winning big races around the world. Though this game won't recreate the excitement of drinking champagne in victory lane, it will let you enjoy the excitement that comes from racing these legendary vehicles.

The game actually comes with three sleek models: the 430 Scuderia, 612 Scaglietti and 599 Fiorano. Before you pick a car based solely on how it looks, keep in mind that each one performs a little differently on the track. Ferrari Virtual Race lets you know the specs and overall performance of each one to help you pick the one that will do the best on the given track. You also have the option of racing each car against multiple other cars from different manufacturers or racing against the exact same car on the track

If you dream of racing on some of the world's top track, this might not be the right game for you. It only lets you race on a single track. That track has some big challenges, including turns that require you to use just the right amount of gas and banks that you'll need to brake on to avoid an accident. There are also some minor issues with the sound. After running a few races and listening to the background noises, you might notice that these cars don't actually sound like Ferrari models.

Ferrari Virtual Race lets you select your difficulty level from three options. ALthough the top level is the hardest, anyone with experience playing racing games will find the difficulty easy to beat. If you become a member of the official Ferrari website, you'll unlock an option that lets you customize your car. You can then race against other competitors in online matches. Though some might find that the controls aren't as sensitive or as responsive as they would like, most will like how well the cars handle on the track. For realistic racing of luxury automobiles, Ferrari Virtual Race is a great game.
